Increasing Engineering Study Abroad Opportunities
Engineers are unable to study abroad due to scheduling conflicts and low opportunities. I will collaborate with the UC Education Abroad Program to develop more partnerships and classes with foreign universities. I will speak with COE department heads to help enable students to transfer credit from their classes abroad.
Ensure Fitness Facilities/Classes on North Side
Although the Health and Wellness Referendum is in progress, fitness facilities/classes will not be available on North Side in the near future. In the meantime, I will find temporary space to put gym equipment and I will work to have RSF-type classes available to students in reserved rooms on North Side.
Create an Out-of-State and International Scholarship Database
Scholarships for out-of-state and international students are scarce and dispersed across the Internet. I will create a comprehensive and organized scholarship database specifically to provide aid for these students. Furthermore, I will partner with the registrar and advisor’s office to make more scholarships available and accessible.

Hometown: Hong Kong
Hey y’all! My name is Courtney Chow, and I’m honored to be running for ASUC Senate with Student Action – Apple Engineering. Originally from Hong Kong, I moved eight times before finally ending up in Sugar Land, Texas (Disclaimer: we don’t ride horses to school, and it doesn’t rain candy!) at the age of nine. Now, as a sophomore, I am pursuing a major in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.
On campus, you can see me at many engineering events, studying at Bechtel, volunteering with children, playing sports, hanging out with friends, sliding in the mud, or even running through the sprinklers! As a senator, I would love to bring my passion and dedication to the Cal community and make a difference on campus.
If you have questions or just simply want to talk, I am free 24/7 to all forms of communication (phone, fb, e-mail, etc.). I don’t sleep, so I always have time for each and every one of you! I love Cal, and I would be honored to represent you all in the ASUC. I am so appreciative for all the support and encouragement. Thank you all so much and as tradition holds, GO BEARS!
