Promoting Fitness and Nutrition on Campus
Busy Cal students often lack time for nutrition and much of the food at Cal Dining does not provide additional help. I will work with Cal Dining to expand their healthy options and create a smartphone app that readily outlines the dishes available on campus for students following different diets, to ensure that every student’s health needs are met.
Create Collaborative Service Opportunities in the Greek Community
Service in Berkeley suffers from disconnected efforts for the same cause. Greek and non-Greek organizations both seek to provide for the community but are handicapped by divided participation. I will encourage collaboration between them and institutionalize programs and events that cater to the wider community so that everyone has the opportunity to give back.
Finding Your Way on Campus
Although there are many organizations that relate to specific majors and occupations, there are very few tailored to those who are truly “undeclared.” I will create a organization that links “undeclared” Freshmen and Sophomores with mentors such as experienced upperclassmen and professionals in different fields to provide guidance and direction.

Hometown: Bakersfield, CA
Wassup Cal! My name is Jacob Mansour (Team Jacob!) and I’m running to be one of your next ASUC Senators. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Bakersfield, California and I’m a 2nd year doubling in Business and Economics. In my free time I enjoy long walks in the moonlight and reading/watching Twilight. If I’m not doing one of those two things I play sports (Soccer, Basketball, Football, Cricket, etc…) and video games (World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Neopets, etc…), and if time permits I get my Taylor Lautner’s abs workout in.
In all seriousness, I’m thrilled to be running as a community service and health/fitness candidate with Student Action. On the side, I opened up an Organic restaurant in my hometown called Subs-Soups-n-Greens and it serves as my inspiration to improve Cal Dining and overall campus health. Additionally, I am current the Philanthropy Chair for Delta Upsilon and I have been involved in The Berkeley Project, The Sage Mentorship Project, and various other community service initiative groups on Cal.
Thanks everyone for the enduring support and I’m honored to have the chance to represent such an altruistic community. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you want to learn more about my platforms or myself. As always, GO BEARS!!!
