Senator Deo's Goals
1) GRADE ACCESSIBILITY AND TRANSPARENCY
I will work with faculty to establish a program that allows students to see their grades before they become permanent. This will create a buffer period to allow time to question and dispute grades. I will challenge professors to give access to final papers and tests immediately at the end of the semester.
2) CAMPUS MEDIA RELATIONS
I will work to establish better relations with national and local media to make UC Berkeley more relevant. By increasing our reputation, we can create demand for students for jobs and internships. I will also aid publications on campus by increasing funding, giving a blueprint on how to procure advertisements, and helping facilitate greater online publishing.
3) PROMOTING DIVERSE STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS
I will work with all South Asian organizations to better serve their membership and provide resources in areas that they could not provide before, whether it be peer-to-peer help or open spaces to facilitate dialogue. Moreover, with the increased amount of diverse students entering campus, I will work to procure more funding for multicultural student groups.
