Making the ASUC Accountable to Students
As ASUC President, I will fight for our education in Sacramento and ensure that legislators understand that student issues are state issues. I will expand student resources to encompass an enhanced ASUC smartphone application, a consolidated campus employment website, and an ASUC Scholarship. Finally, I will ensure that the ASUC is the foremost resource for students going through transitional periods, such as freshmen, junior transfers, and seniors, so they have what they need to be successful at Cal.

Revitalizing Cal Spirit

As President, I will host and augment the incredible ASUC events such as the Cal Day Concert, the Glade and Spring Welcome Week. I will build new programs such as a Celebrate Cal Series that will highlight the notable aspects of our campus, and a biannual ASUC Hack-A-Thon, where students can design programs that will benefit the student body. Further, I will engage our alumni by creating an ASUC Alumni Networking Program to provide students with internships, guidance, and career opportunities.

Creating a More Student-Centered University
We students fund the majority of our education, but do not get the majority of the input into where our funds go. Next year, I will establish an equitable working relationship with Chancellor Nicholas Dirks so that he understands that the student voice is his number one priority. I will host monthly roundtable discussions between campus administration and student leaders so that we can continue to hold them accountable to our needs. Lastly, I will collect student feedback on vital student services such as Cal Student Central and Cal Dining and deliver it to an institutionalized action committee so that our voices will be heard.

Hi everyone! My name is Rafi Lurie and I'm running to be your next ASUC President with Student Action. I'm a sophomore from San Diego, California and am currently undeclared in the College of Engineering (intended Electrical Engineering and Computer Science). Outside of school, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, traveling, playing board games, and anything active.

I am serving as one of your ASUC Senators this year and am involved in the Greek (brother in Delta Chi), Jewish, and engineering communities on campus. I am so honored and excited to be running in this election and cannot wait to implement my goals for next year!
