Senator Emily White
My name is Emily White and I am second year student at University of California, Berkeley. I am from Long Beach, California.
I am a member of Pi Beta Phi and served as the VP Communications Assistant this past semester. I also was the Logistics Head of Arrowbands Philanthropy Show. It was amazing to see Wheeler Auditorium sold out with all of the Greek chapters there supporting one another for a great cause.
Senator White's Goals
1) PLATFORM1: ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORTATION
To increase the accessibility of AC Transit and Bear Transit, I will ensure that electronic signs are installed at the AC Transit bus stops surrounding campus. I also want to increase the effectiveness of Bear Transit by making students more aware of the existing routes and schedules.
2) PLATFORM 2: COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE GREEK COMMUNITY AND UCPD
I will work with IFC, PHC and the ASUC to strengthen the relationship between Greek houses and UCPD. I will plan monthly round-tables where chapters can discuss pressing issues in the Greek community. I will also ensure that the ASUC takes a more active role in advocating for issues affecting students in Greek chapters.
3) PLATFORM 3: CONNECTING THE CAL GREEK ALUMNI NETWORK WITH STUDENTS
The Greek community is fortunate to have a strong alumni base that is willing to assist Cal students upon graduation. I will work with businesses owned by Cal Greek Alumni to create an internship event that will allow students to interact, network, and find job opportunities to help jump-start their careers.

One of my greatest passions is dance. I was a dancer during high school and am so happy to be able to continue dancing in college with the student run, contemporary dance company, Thrive. I have really enjoyed meeting students that share the same love for dance as I do.
I also have a passion for working with the disabled. I have loved volunteering at Special Olympics in the past and this year I joined Best Buddies Club. It has been very rewarding working with my buddy one-on-one as well as spending time with all of the buddies in the club at our various events. I also joined Autism Speaks U at Berkeley in the Spring. It was moving to see the club surpass their fundraising goal for the Autism Speaks U 5K Race, exceeding $12,000.
Cal has so many great things to offer and I cannot wait to see what other clubs and activities I will become involved with in the upcoming years.
