Senator Tom Lee
Hi! My name is Tom Lee and I am a 3rd year majoring in Business Administration and Political Economy.
I am an international student from South Korea, but I went to high school in Connecticut, and have also lived in Canada.
At Cal, I am involved in Sigma Nu Fraternity, Korean Student Organization and East Asian Union, and I am an avid fan of all sports – Lacrosse, soccer, wrestling, swimming, and RSF-ing – and love hip hop music.
I am honored and excited to represent you as the ASUC Senator for 2012-2013, and I can’t wait to meet each and every one of you!
Senator Lee's Goals
1) PROMOTING UNIVERSITY ENTERTAINMENT
While the Glade and Perspectives are two landmark ASUC events held in the spring, students don’t have a say in who comes to perform in the fall in Zellerbach or the Greek Theater. As a senator, I will work to increase student input and hold concerts that students will love to attend.
2) BUDGET ACCESSIBILITY
Where do all of your student fees get spent? How is money spent at UC Berkeley? As a senator, I will work to increase budget transparency by creating an easily accessible portal through which students can conveniently view the budget for all areas of school, and interact with administration to voice their opinions on the allocation of funds.
3) ENGAGING THE INTERNATIONAL KOREAN COMMUNITY
My experience in KUNA has shown me the many issues that Korean international students face. I will help international students better integrate into the campus community. I will also act as a liaison to this community to ensure that they receive support and information about the ASUC, Greek life, and other campus organizations.
